Riverside South Directory (“the directory,” “we”) is managed by Blue Pixels. This page explains what we collect and why, in plain language.
What we collect
- Account info: your email address and a securely hashed password (we never store or see your actual password) when you sign up.
- Business submissions: whatever you enter when you list or edit a business — name, category, description, phone, website, address, and any photos you upload.
- IP address: used only to rate-limit signups and submissions against spam and abuse, not for tracking or advertising.
- Public Google Places data: for discovered or Google-linked listings, we store a business’s public rating, review count, and basic details as published on Google — this is public information about the business, not about you.
How we use it
To run the directory: creating and signing you into your account, reviewing and publishing business listings, keeping Google ratings current, and preventing spam (a honeypot field, rate limiting, and — when enabled — hCaptcha). If Featured (paid) listings are active, payment is handled entirely by Stripe; we never see or store your card details.
Who we share it with
We don’t sell your information. It passes through the services that make the directory work: Vercel (hosting, our database, and photo storage), Google (ratings lookup for listings), Stripe (payment processing, only if you upgrade a listing), and hCaptcha (bot protection, when enabled). Each only sees what it needs to do its job.
Cookies
We use a single sign-in session cookie to keep you logged in. We don’t run third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
Your choices
You can edit or remove your own business listings from your dashboard at any time. To delete your account or ask what data we hold about you, email hello@bluepixels.ca.
